Welcome to my portfolio! I am a passionate full-stack web developer looking for an entry/junior level web developer position. I develop mainly on Ruby on Rails, but I am always trying to learn something new. I am looking to transfer the work ethic, communication skills, passion for quality product, and the attention to detail I learned in my 5 years’ experience in Biotech field into web development field.

Shoptime

Simple to-do list app made using jQuery. For ease of user experience, users can add items to the list using enter/click. Selecting an item on the list will scratch it, and can then be deleted by clicking a button.

Skills used: HTML, CSS, jQuery, Responsive web design.





JavaScript Quiz App

Quiz app made using JavaScript. Applied object-oriented programming concept and other programming concepts such as logic, loops. Minimalistic design.

Thinkful-tube

(Work in progress) A simple web app to do video search based on keywords and returning top 5 most viewed videos. Connected to Youtube API and used the JSON data to display clickable thumbnails for video.

Skills used: HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTTP requests, and consuming web API (google/youtube).





JavaScript Hot or Cold game app

Game app made using JavaScript. Used JavaScript logic to take user's input (number guess) and compare it against randomly generated number. Gives feedback to user according to how close the guessed number is to actual number. Functionality includes guess counter, reset button, and instant feedback. Applied JavaScript programming concept concepts such as logic, loops.

Splurty

A random quote generator Ruby on Rails app built as part of Firehose Project curriculum. Visitors can contribute a quote that will be stored in a database and will be a part of randomly generated quote. Deployed to Heroku.

Nomster

A Yelp clone app made using Ruby on Rails as part of Firehose Project curriculum. Implemented authentication using devise gem, users can create places, comment on places, but only creator of a place can delete the particular place. Image upload capability using Carrierwave gem and connected to Amazon Web Services, also connected to Google Map API. Deployed to Heroku

Lokiblog

(Work in progress) A simple blog that will also serve as my sandbox environment to learn new technologies/gems and apply it to Rails development. I considered creating a blog using regular content management system but I decided to challenge myself and create a blog from scratch. Still (and will always be) work in progress.
